show notes - In the era, the value of creativity is often measured by its digital footprint, the essence of art has been overshadowed by a relentless quest for virality and engagement. These two factors are the modern-day trophy when it comes to receiving art rather than feelings and perceptions. This shift has changed the landscape of fashion into a clash of lackluster trends and superficial statements, outshadowing its rich, artistic heritage into a mere tool for consumerism and capitalization. Soul is being lost in the modern age (this term can be used in various fields). There’s no more soul in style. Fashion has lost a lot of its intimate and artistic value. A lot of its subcultures don’t seem to have a hopeful future of longevity because of the way consumerism is treating fashion. This can tie into many problems including brands producing strictly for the consumer, not for the heritage or identity, disengaging advertising, and identity crisis. The industry today has transformed itself from a once artistic and exclusive field, into a field full of commercialism, and capitalism stripping artistic value for numbers.
Artistic value can have more worth and longevity than financial value.
